at the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg, Kansas.

We are pleased to announce that 65 prints were selected from our 2024 Annual Members Exhibition for the 127th Annual Midwest Art Exhibition in Lindsborg, Kansas, which will run early next year. The Midwest Art Exhibition was founded in 1899 by three Lindsborg artists, including Birger Sandzén, a dedicated art advocate and SAGA member. It will be held in the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery (BSMG) from January 26 – April 20, 2025.

Ron Michael, BSMG Director, and Cori Sherman North, BSMG Curator, graciously served as jurors for this show. Ron Michael has been the BSMG Director since 2014 and before that, served in other capacities including curator and registrar. He is a ceramic and mixed media artist and holds an MFA in ceramics from the University of Kansas.

Cori Sherman North is also the curator for the Moffett Collection in Kansas City, Missouri, and the annual Prairie Festival of The Land Institute in Salina, Kansas. Her publications include books and exhibition catalogs: B.J.O. Nordfeldt in Kansas (2022); a new biography, “Birger Sandzén: Celebrating the Vision” (2021); and “Art for All: The Swedish Experience in Mid-America” (2019). Her work focuses on the art of Kansas and the mountain-plains region.

The Midwest Art Exhibition initially featured local artists and college students, but over the years, nationally known artists were also invited to participate. Today, the exhibition showcases works by three to five guest artists. SAGA is truly honored to be a part of this historic tradition.
