For nearly a decade, Joan Chiverton has uniquely captured the magic and intimacy of performances on the City Winery stage, from the original Varick Street location to Pier 57 and presentations at Carnegie Hall and Town Hall. Her illustrations take shape during live performances, in near darkness with the light of a tea candle. Joan’s portraits have become a hallmark of City Winery, with performers searching for their pictures on the walls of the green room, reflecting on past performances.
