My intaglio images are composed of familiar objects that are isolated and removed from any context in which the viewer can form a conventional conclusion. I’m affected by personal, social, and political issues that can frequently be found in my work.
Ron Fundingsland has exhibited in many national exhibitions and is the recipient of numerous awards including the Ture Bengtz Memorial Prize, awarded by juror Jim Dine, at the Boston Printmakers 2011 North American Print Biennial. His work has also been exhibited internationally including The International Print Triennial – Krakow, Poland – ’94, ’97, 2012, Korea, Taiwan, Egypt, Norway, Germany, Brazil, and the Czech Republic. His prints are included in the permanent collections of the Denver Art Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts-San Francisco, Museum of Fine Arts-Boston, Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art- Kansas City, New Mexico Museum of Art-Santa Fe, The Art Complex Museum-Duxbury, MA, and others.
