Reinaldo Gil Zambrano (RGZ) is a Venezuelan-born printmaker, muralist, and educator based in Spokane, WA. His work blends traditional printmaking, murals, and documentaries to explore cultural heritage and community engagement. RGZ is an Associate Professor at Gonzaga University, co-founder of the Spokane Print & Publishing Center, and founder of Spokane Print Fest. His art has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections such as the Library of Congress and the Northwest Museum of Art & Culture. In 2025, he received the Mid-Career Printmaker Award from SGCI. He also co-hosts the Hello Print Friend podcast while directing documentaries based on printmaking history.

My work explores the tension between control and chaos through visual narratives rooted in magical realism and Latin American storytelling. Drawing from daily life, I infuse ordinary moments with dark humor, surreal undertones, and cultural archetypes to examine the human condition and the concept of home. My process, centered on reduction woodcut, lithography, and silkscreen, embraces technical risk and emotional vulnerability. Using found MDF and color, I create images that reflect the unpredictability of life and invite viewers to find meaning and beauty in everyday instability.
