My work focuses mainly on botanical subjects, which I paint in watercolors, draw and etch from Nature as I find them in the Botanical Gardens of NY as well as my own.
I work my aquatint etchings at the Manhattan Graphic Center in NY and oftentimes hand-color them in my studio in Brooklyn. I am a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI) and have participated in a number of their juried shows. The most recent ones will be at the Glendor Gallery of Wave Hill, NY, Fall 2020 and at the NYBG, “Abundant Future”, also this fall.
My work is in several public and private collections, i.e. the Met Cloisters, the NYBG LuEsther T. Mertz Library, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Florilegium Society and the Shirley Sherwood Collection, Kew.
I hope that my work conveys some of the love and admiration I feel for Nature’s creations.
