Early studies at American Academy of Art in Chicago, under the tutelage of Eugene Hall, instilled a desire for challenge and experimentation. My first taste of printmaking was at Barat College in Lake Forest, IL, followed by further studies at College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL under Dan Ziembo, with D. Michael Coffee of Shy Rabbit Contemporary Arts in Pagosa Springs, CO, and with Dan Welden in Santa Fe, NM. I have exhibited throughout the U.S., am a grant recipient from the Colorado Council on the Arts, and have been awarded numerous teaching and working residencies in Colorado.

My work is multi-disciplinary, mainly choosing what I feel is the most appropriate and challenging medium to reveal a narrative or depict an image. My work can be representational or abstract, and at times incorporating both. I can’t help but notice the parallels of much of my recent work to my own physical journey in life. As I enter into my seventh decade, I find myself evermore drawn to long shadows and fleeting light as inspiration for my work. The softening luminosity and the deep, intangible shadows the sun creates as the earth tilts toward its wintering position.
