Lindsey Hurst is a printmaker and drawer from Cincinnati, OH. She comes from a blue-collar background which has influenced her tactile printmaking labors of love to tell stories of big feelings. She received a BA from Miami University in 2022. Now she works at Fuse Press and Tiger Lily Press in Cincinnati. Hurst has completed 5 residencies at Tom Huck’s Evil Prints in St. Louis, MO. She is a member of Surefire Print Collective (based in Baltimore, MD). Her work has been exhibited at galleries in Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, and at the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair in Brooklyn, NY.

My drawings and prints present some low-brow fun, emotional indulgence, tumultuous relationships, heavy grief, and the value of friendship. I’m inspired by technical printmakers, colorful illustrations, films and cartoons. I enjoy seeing my hand show through my work, allowing the process to breathe through textures. I come from a blue-collar background where I have felt working-class struggles while simultaneously being surrounded by love and laughter. My art is my expression of the things we go through; the yearning, fun, heartbreak, beauty. It’s a balance I seek. I want my work to be fun to look at, while gripping something heavy.
