As an art student, I was drawn to the printmaking processes. After leaving the academic setting, block printing became my focus, first concentrating on wood block, and gradually favoring linoleum. The reduction printing process, presents the most intriguing challenges to me. I also enjoy the lithographic and intaglio processes.
Having grown up in the Flint Hills, I truly appreciate their beauty, colors, wildlife, movement of the wind through the tall grass, and the down-to-earth people who live and work there. Through my art I want to draw attention to the beauty of the hills. I’m drawn to color, pattern, and texture in nature and enjoy incorporating these things in my prints.
