Biography

A native and lifelong resident of Wisconsin, Jayne attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After joining a private local print workshop in Madison, AGB Graphics, she began her work in intaglio, mezzotint and monotype. She is entirely self-taught in the mezzotint technique and is known internationally for her mezzotint work which uses still life elements to examine light, reflection and repetition. Her work has been consistently accepted into national and international print shows and she is a member of five print societies across the US along with several regional art associations. She has exhibited regularly in group exhibitions with these organizations along with numerous juried shows. As a member of the International Mezzotint Society, she has coordinated the annual member’s print exchange since 2000. Her mezzotints have also been a part of the International Mezzotint Festival biennial held in Ekaterinburg, Russia since its inception in 2009. Her works are included in the collections of the Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Art, the University of Wisconsin (at Madison, Marshfield, and LaCrosse), the University of Minnesota, Loyola University Chicago, and others.
