Biography

A native of rugged northern New England, Hannah Phelps’ woodblock prints are an ongoing exploration of the world outside her window and the forces at work there. With either brushes and a wooden spoon or rollers and an etching press, she creates seascape and landscape white-line woodcuts and jigsaw relief woodblocks inspired by beach walks, plein air painting adventures and hikes with her dogs.

Her award-winning woodblock prints have been shown and collected throughout the US. Exhibits include the Washington Printmakers’ Gallery National Small Works Exhibit, the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire, the American Color Print Society’s Annual Exhibit and many sponsored by the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen.
