Biography

In college, Doug graduated with a BFA in Printmaking from Mankato State University, Minnesota. He was accepted into the printmaking graduate program at Wichita State University by the prominent and respected Kansas printmakers David Bernard and John Boyd, receiving his MFA degrees in Printmaking & Drawing.

Later, he joined the Wichita Artists Guild, serving as President for four years and on the Board of Directors for another seven years. He was also accepted as a member/partner of Gallery XII, Wichita’s longest running artists’ cooperative gallery, serving as President for three years.

He started a printmaking program in Wichita Kansas at the Wichita Center for the Arts (now the Mary R Koch Arts Center) in 2002. He has taught printmaking classes since then. Doug is the founder and Director of the Tallgrass Prairie Printmakers Association which he created in 2014.
