Biography
While living in a one room studio, I began concentrating in the medium of the woodcut due to the simple reason that one could complete the entire process in any space. The woodcut allows me to actually partner with the medium by making its own statement with its grain working in concert with the image. To obtain the various tonality, I use wire brushes as well as scraping the knife against the grain. I have also done a series of prints with just a u gouge rendering dots playing off of our technologically driven digital world. In terms of imagery, the portrait continues to attract and challenge me.
